Wednesday night around 10pm, me and Adam hopped in the car for the dreaded traveling adventure that is the day before Thanksgiving.

And... we didn't hit a spot of traffic the whole way! It was a Thanksgiving miracle.

My old friend Steph got in touch with me over the week and asked if I could come take pictures of her beautiful family, dogs and horses always included.

6 kids, 10 dogs and a snow storm... only for you, Steph!

Newest member of the family, and she decided to sleep for almost two days straight.

Was it worth the six hour drive?

Absolutely!

So, this weekend I am off to wild and wonderful West Virginia for a very important photo shoot. I think the pictures will tell a better story on my return than I ever could.

Adam will be holding down the fort here in New York until next week when we resume our normal schedule of insanity.

. . . . . .

On another note, a topic I find myself getting questions on a lot lately is details and diy aspects of a wedding day. People assume (and rightly so!) that we get to

see the good-and-bad of every wedding idea under the sun. So, I thought I'd share with you a few of the blogs/sites I love to look at and some we've been featured on in the past...

ruffledblog.com - If we ever decided to advertise, it would be with them. This site is written by some pretty great people, and always

has beautiful and original ideas. The projects and details from this site are by far, hands down my favorite to find at any wedding.

oncewed.com - Another site that features details, details, and more details. Many of their ideas come from

all across the country, so it gives a great sampling of literally everything out there.

rocknrollbride.com - Kat Williams, the founder of this site has been awesome enough to feature our workin the past, and

is constantly (multiple times a day) updating with new content. More than anything, I think she highlights great ideas for venue location.

weddingjojo.com - Very. Very. Cool. Wedding websites.

ALSO - VERY IMPORTANT!

I have been told in the past couple of weeks that I'm not receiving certain emails.

Please, please, please if you need to get through to me and don't hear back within a day, send multiple emails. At least until I can get this problem taken care of!

Thanks in advance for understanding.

I think one of the hidden blessings of having a job like this is that we get to meet so many people we actually get along with.

Living in New York, you can literally meet every single personality type just by walking down the street - and yet somehow, our clients choose us.

Earlier on, we didn't have such a luxury. Working for other people and taking random jobs gets old quickly.

We both decided to put ourselves out there (here!) and share more and more of who we are in the hopes that people can connect with us on another level.

So far, seems to be working!

I get asked a lot where/with who do we advertise? And the answer is Nowhere.

Maybe one day, but for now our clients seem to be doing an amazing word of mouth campaign on our behalf.

There are certain pages that list our pricing/products, however these are just for client reference. Advertising is great for some companies, but when it

comes to wedding photography I think it's much more challenging to find a good match based on just an ad.

Through this site and hopefully email, meetings over coffee and phone calls, we really do enjoy getting to know every single person we work with.

And since I hate to end a post without a picture, I'm going to leave you with one from a shoot we had a few

weeks back. I'm thinking the weather was just a a bit warmer then!

A couple of months ago, this lovely lady and I headed out into the country to shoot some new bridal

portraits. Though her wedding was about a year ago, it's really nice to have a day to go and do whatever you'd like in that dress.

Didn't have time to go to that magical-farm-down-the-road-at-sunset on your wedding day?

Not a problem!

Today I'm on a bit of a candy corn sugar high, so I happen to be getting a ton of work done!

Halloween has come and gone, and I had one of the absolute busiest weekends ever. I mentioned Adam was in Canada, and I went into New Jersey with

three photo shoots in the works. I got to work with two wonderful families, who I cannot thank enough for obliging my schedule and braving the November winds.

On Halloween however, I had my own plans.

I dragged two of my favorite people outside for an adventure that ended up being about 5 hours.

So guys, are we all sick this week?!

After a long summer full of weddings, it almost feels strange to have a weekend off. Adam is in far-away Canada, so I kicked it off early and headed uptown today for

PDN's PhotoPlusExpo. If you're a photographer in the area, I highly reccomend you try to go this year. I think it's really

important to educate yourself in whichever field you're interested in, and the seminars they hold are some of the best. The rooms are pretty small, and you can

really connect with the speakers. Not to mention some of the best photographers from around the world are all in one spot!

Last night, we finally broke down and ordered Netflix.

For two people who have survived the last year without cable, this is a big deal. And what did we pick to watch first?

Adam picked Batman, the cartoon. And I picked Mary Kate and Ashley's Halloween movie. Best decision I've made in a long time!

Anyway, on to more important things. A few weeks ago we met Alison and Ross in Princeton for what turned out to be a really overcast, beautiful day.

I am completely looking forward to their wedding next year, especially after we practiced all the classic

Sears Portrait Studio poses. I think you guys have it down! Though those particular pictures may never see the internet...

Wedding season is winding down, and we are still in the land of crazy. In the middle of traveling, editing and pulling albums together, me and Adam traveled to

upstate New York yesterday for one of the most beautiful mountain top weddings I've ever seen...

More of that to come!

In the mean time, a few days ago our site saw a spike in traffic. A big spike. A rough estimate would be a 20x increase, which is kind of a big deal.

Which leaves us wondering, how did you stumble across this site? Some time in the near future we're going to impliment a comment feature, but

until then I set up a page where you can help us out with this mystery. It's anonymous, and you don't need to log in or make an account.

Just click the link below and type anywhere on the page

Thank You!

"I think I just took my favorite picture ever!"

It's something Adam makes fun of me for saying at almost every wedding. I try not to be partial, but it's hard. Something about a new

day and a new chance to do what we love.

. . . . . .

I met Krysta through my friend Kim. Poor Kim, who we drag into the city at least once a year to visit. Last December, she brought her

friend Krysta with her and we all went out to dinner down on Bleecker street. I remember Krysta talking about her boyfriend Tom, this wonderful

mystery man who she was texting all day. From what I heard, he made her the happiest, and they were a perfect pair.

About 6 months later, I got a phone call from Tommy. Apparently, 'Tom' was my old friend from back home.

We've lived about 2 miles from each other our whole lives, and I've seen him turn into a man any lady would be lucky to have.

He asked if we could photograph their wedding, and I'm so happy we got to be there.

All day in my head, I kept thinking "this is my favorite picture ever."

The girls and guys both got ready at the church, which was like this perfect little den with perfect little windows.

And I can not say enough good things about my new favorite scent, lavender. The whole church smelled amazing, all thanks to these little flowers.

Seriously gorgeous. There are so many pictures in this beautiful afternoon light, I couldn't even choose.

You two are made for each other. We really had a great time, and wish you guys the best!

On the morning of September 4th, we hopped in the car and drove off to beautiful Basking Ridge, New Jersey. After I dropped Adam off

with the guys, I drove around town and pulled up to Vanessa's parent's house. Well actually, I drove right past their

house and turned around, but that's besides the point.

When I got there, Vanessa was floating from room to room with a big smile on her face. Her girls right by her side, it looked like

a beautiful day to get hitched!

I cannot over state the love I saw between everyone in this house.

And for the ceremony, Adam and myself were exiled to the back of the church!

Lots of churches have rules against flash, and I'm happy to say that all of the pictures in this post and 95% of the

pictures on this site are shot using natural light.

After the ceremony, there were so many gorgeous locations I don't even know where to start.

We can thank Vanessa's grandfather for this beautiful '35 Ford!

What a seriously beautiful event. Adam and Vanessa, you guys deserve the best, and we're so glad we

could be a part of your day!

We. Are. Busy.

And not "I don't have time to bake cookies" busy. More like "I barely have time to put socks on" busy.

The last few weekends have all gone something like this...

Leave the city on Friday, shoot a wedding on Saturday, drive back in on Sunday. Then backup all the images, backup again, and make dinner at 3am.

Needless to say there's a lot of sleep to catch up on, and any hope for a social life goes out the window somewhere around April.

What I'm getting at is the fact that the website suffers. There's so much going on, I can't keep up! Which is why I'm going to try and keep a

promise to update atleast once a week, every Tuesday.

That said, I bring to you some seriously gorgeous pictures this week. Kelly and Paul met

right where they're standing... on his parent's tree farm.

And as if this perfect setting wan't enough, I can't say enough nice things about both of their families. After having shot his sister's

wedding a couple years ago, it felt like we were surrounded by friends all day.

And what have I found myself saying a million times this year? Make sure you actually like your photographer.

If it's a good fit, you'll know right from the start.

On a wedding day, we are with our fabulous clients from beginning to end, and I'm happy to say it's always a blast. Kelly and Paul, you guys were no exception!

It is rain, rain, raining down here. We've had the past couple of weeks to catch up, and decided to spend most of it at the shore...

Rain is happiness. It's so calm, and aside from being too muggy to do anything outside, it's gorgeous. And lots of time to catch up means lots of pictures!

It's a constant question... "Can I see more?" No matter how much you show someone, they always want to see more, more more. Photographers too!

Which is the other half of why we wanted to do this post.

And, in case you only read the blog, there's another page under our WORK section with full weddings here.

But for now, I'll try to put in some more effort and post pictures from each part of the day. There's a few weddings coming up that I know we're

both very excited for, which should make it easy!

These pictures are from a wedding about a month ago, which was quite the adventure. We hiked up to Massachusets and got to photograph Bryce and Sarah's

beautiful outdoor wedding.

Barns, cottages and old wooden floors...
